The Knob Noster Item has been serving the surrounding community also know as Washington Township, for over 50 years.  It was founded by Billy Keith and Bette Jo Hall and is currently published and edited by their oldest son, Stan Hall. 

 

The Knob Noster R-VIII School District services Washington Township including Knob Noster, Whiteman Air Force Base and surrounding rural areas. It is a AAA-rated district consisting of four buildings:  the high school, middle school, and two elementary schools, one in town and one at Whiteman Air Force Base.
